I quit sugar day 21

My 21 days quit sugar challenge accomplished. Proud of you Jen!!

 

3 amazing things happen on me:

1. My mind has never been as clear as now, which keeps me super productive from morning till night time

2. My body fat percentage dropped by 5%, and got flatter belly without doing much intensive training

3. The dried lips and skin that annoyed me for months has totally recovered, plus a bonus I got my dark-eye circles removed, and have softer tighter skin!

What sugar did I quit?

When we talk about the danger of sugar, we are referring to fructose. Which it is hidden everywhere in our life:

- table sugar/ sucrose (contains 50% glucose, 50% fructose)

- artificial sweeteners/ processed sugar especially "high fructose corn syrup" HFCS (contains more than 90% fructose)

- while glucose/ maltose/ lactose are safe to eat, just in moderate amount

 

Why fructose?

- it promotes fat storage:

Fructose could ONLY be processed by our liver, which increases its workload and potentially cause non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

- it is addictive:

Fructose is proven more addictive than cocaine and heroin. Our blood insulin won't react with fructose, there won't be a signal to our brain we are full/ help us switch to stop eating mode. That's why we crave on sugary food.

- it makes us sick:

It leads to metabolic disorder, destroy our immune system, cause diabetes, cancer and so on...

 

Shall I quit sugar?

Keeping a low fructose diet is the key to health and wellness. Yet people always worried they got nothing to eat. Having a healthy diet doesn't mean you need to starve yourself or sacrifice everything. You can still taste sweet when you quit sugar, just need to know how to do it.
